By the night of the oscars, we all KNEW that Heath Ledger would win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor..hands down!!
I called that he would win this oscar way back when the movie came out -- many were skeptical due to the type of movie this is.. a COMIC BOOK/ACTION MOVIE --------
It's that same reason that THE DARK KNIGHT wasn't even nominated for much of anything...
It could have EASILY of been the BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR!
Not only did it make a ridiculous amount of money but it was smart and had a mystery/thriller feel to it that most movies based on a comic book superhero DO NOT HAVE!!!
Congrats to Heath Ledger and to the entire team behind THE DARK KNIGHT as it should have been among the ELITE -- and not a sidebar at the Oscars!!!

You know, I didn't even see The Dark Knight until January 2011, which is pretty much 3 years after H.L.'s death! I hadn't even heard of Heath Ledger before The Dark Knight. But, after that I looked up on youtube other videos he had been in, and I was amazed that he was the one who played The Joker! Unbelievable!
