By the night of the oscars, we all KNEW that Heath Ledger would win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor..hands down!!
I called that he would win this oscar way back when the movie came out -- many were skeptical due to the type of movie this is.. a COMIC BOOK/ACTION MOVIE --------
It's that same reason that THE DARK KNIGHT wasn't even nominated for much of anything...
It could have EASILY of been the BEST PICTURE OF THE YEAR!
Not only did it make a ridiculous amount of money but it was smart and had a mystery/thriller feel to it that most movies based on a comic book superhero DO NOT HAVE!!!
Congrats to Heath Ledger and to the entire team behind THE DARK KNIGHT as it should have been among the ELITE -- and not a sidebar at the Oscars!!!

Heath Ledger's DARK KNIGHT co-stars talk OSCAR for THE JOKER
"It's satisfying to see people celebrating the incredible talent of Heath," Christian Bale said at the movie's Tokyo premiere. "I just want him to be recognized."
Bale attributed much of Dark Knight's success as a film to his friend Ledger's work, according to an article in People.
Last week, Dark Knight's Maggie Gyllenhaal, whose assistant district attorney Rachel Dawes shared a riveting scene with Ledger's Joker in the film, suggested that he be honored with a posthumous Oscar. "In a way I feel funny thinking about the Oscars when he isn't alive," she told reporters at the movie's London premiere, "but at the same time I'm a member of the Academy and I would vote for him." She added, "It was inspiring working with him."
And earlier this month Michael Caine, who plays butler Alfred Pennyworth, put it most bluntly: "Heath will surely get a posthumous nomination for an Academy Award.
This movie has many twists and turns - everyone is great but while you're watching..you just keep thinking ..."I can't wait to see what THE JOKER is going to DO and SAY next!!!"
